The 'Abstractions' Series and the Impact of Generative AI on the Creative Process
During the 2020 lockdown period, I undertook a deep exploration into the nascent field of generative AI. In my quest to understand the potential of this emerging technology and the implications it could have for UX and the field of design in general, I invested my time in learning the programming language "N" and experimenting with a variety of machine learning techniques.
As I delved deeper into this field, I was struck by the immense potential of AI to create art that was both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. It was during this time that I began working on a series called "Abstractions," inspired by the use of AI to generate abstract artwork.
The process of creating each composition in the series involved using machine learning algorithms to 'seed' the artwork. The algorithms would then analyze the data and generate a unique representation of the input, resulting in a striking array of abstract imagery. The series is a testament to the power of AI to create art that is both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking.
Each piece in the "Abstractions" series explores the intersection of art and technology, creating a unique blend of human creativity and machine intelligence. Through this artwork, I was able to examine the infinite possibilities that AI presents to the world of art, and the potential for new forms of creative expression.
This exploration into generative AI and the "Abstractions" series highlights the impact of technology on the artistic process. By leveraging machine learning techniques and programming languages, artists can push the boundaries of what is possible in art and create new and exciting forms of expression.
